Brighton -- my day in numbers

2.00am -- the time Tom and I got in from a wedding the night before

9.30 -- the time we dragged ourselves out of bed
1 hour -- how long it took us to drive to Brighton (damn traffic)

4 -- the number of times I had to check the map on my iPhone to find the restaurant where we had lunch

2 -- big bowls of pho (pronounced foh). For lunch we went to a restaurant called Pho, which is a Vietnamese restaurant which specialises in, you guessed it, pho. Pho is a type of noodle soup, and the restaurant did not disappoint. Two huge bowls of steaming noodle soups where put in front of us an devoured. Delicious!

1 -- piggy postcard. After wondering around the lanes (for those who don't know, the lanes are a collation of narrow lanes in Brighton packed with quirky one-off shops and stalls), I fell in love with this wooden piggy postcard. I seem to be loving yellow at the moment. Anything yellow catches my eye (see cushion as example!)

2 -- giant cups of coffee, to keep us going in the afternoon

3 - the number of open houses we saw. During May, lots of artists open up their houses for the public to enter and view their work. It's totally free. Tom and I instantly regretted not organising this in advance, we'll have to do it next year!

5 - the number of people we cooked dinner for. I tried one of my new recipes: paprika sausage and olive casserole, with potato diaphanous and broccoli with toasted sesame, and sesame oil. It was delicious. Maybe I should write a blog post showing the recipe?

Hope you are all making the most of this sun.
