My funny old job

My job is not what you would expect a 'normal' part time job to be. I don't waitress at a restaurant or bar, I don't work in a local shop, and I don't have a paper round. But here's what you can expect of me in my current job;

I can catch a duck with minimal fuss and show you how to easily tell the difference between the males and the females (and no, it's not dirty, minds out of the gutters!)

I can do a three point turn with a tractor

I can perform a 5* demonstration on the correct way to wash your hands

I can tell you the difference between and comb and a wattle on a chicken

I can reverse a van with no back window

I can prep all the tills for the start of the day and cash up all of them at the end

I can give you an educational 10 minute talk about pigs

On a similar note, I can give a piglet a world class belly rub (forget puppies, it's all about the piglets)

I can keep calm and aid anyone with a broken bone or serious head injury (and by this I don't mean I'm simply first aid trained, I actually have experience with both of these incidents)

And lastly, I can make my way around a giant indoor play area completely blindfolded.

I couldn't find a relevant photo, so here's one of me. And if you'd like to see more pictures of me pulling weird faces, follow me on Instagram

So, who can guess what my job is?

Seven Things for Seven Days (sort of) - November

So Sprinkle of Glitter (if you don’t read her blog then I SERIOUSLY recommend you check it out) started up this feature which is called 7 things in 7 days and it sounded like a good idea, so I thought I would join in. The idea is that you choose seven things that you’d like to achieve in seven days. Like a relaxed to do list.

However I am adapting it slightly, as I’m going to increase the amount of time I have to complete these tasks. So my seven things that I’d like to achieve in November are;

Get Prepared for Christmas
Being abroad it is going to be a bit more difficult to organise people’s Christmas presents, so I want to start early and get prepared.

Send Postcards
I have so many postcards I have to send off to friends and family. Once I start writing them, then I’ll plough through and get them all done...I just have to get started first.

Explore More of Malta
Since starting uni, experiencing difference areas of Malta has taken a back seat. I don’t want to waste the time I have here so I am going to put down my work and go out and see what more this country has to offer.

Volunteering
I would really like to get more than just a qualification out of this year, and I would love to give something back. In this month I want to do some research into what volunteering is available to me.

Cook a meal I’ve never Cooked Before
I love love love cooking! My only limitations are budget and what I can get hold of in the Maltese supermarkets.

Start Another DIY Project
I’ve really enjoyed doing some DIY projects out here, so I might have a look on Pinterest and find some more ideas

Keep up to Date
Recently I’ve been a bit lax with my ‘photo every day’, uploading a week’s worth of photos at a time. I would like to be uploading every day or every other day.

So those are my seven things and I’ll let you know how I do. If you’d like to see Sprinkle of Glitter’s most recent post about it then click here, and if you’d like to join in, leave a link to your post below and I’d love to see what you choose.

October Wishlist

It's been a bit odd being in Malta this autumn. Normally at home I would be getting my boots out, and putting my scarves on. Cups of tea in front of the fire. And many other things lots of other bloggers have been talking about.

But over here in Malta it is still about 27 degrees. And it's hard to get excited about Winter and Christmas when sunbathing on a beach!

I have been told it will get cold in a month or so though, so my wishlist reflects what I would like as the weather gets a bit cooler. (Plus I am going home for a couple of weeks for Christmas so will need some bits then)

So here goes:

  1. Essie nail varnish in the colour 'Carry On'
  2. 'Live Laugh Love' Cushion from Next
  3. Jumper from Mango
  4. Black Bag from Zara
  5. Lipstick from Topshop in the colour Beguiled
  6. Flask from Cath Kidston

Heart Cake

Hey!

So, just a quick post today as I am completely swamped with revision. I have two exams tomorrow and am so so nervous! I've been up since 8.30 this morning doing revision, but have decided to have a little break and update my blog.

I wanted to show you the beautiful cake that my housemates and I made (ok, ok, I had very little to do with the making of this cake due to revision, but it looks so incredible that I wanted some of the glory). Doesn't it look amazing? I can't wait to taste it!

Anyway, back to revision for me, and hopefully I will be able to blog next week after my exams.
