Holiday reading ideas

A couple of days ago Tom and I booked our summer holiday!! I'm so excited. Now all I have to do is pass my final uni exams...

I love reading, especially on holiday. Last year I read seven books. So now I have the task of choosing which books I want to take on holiday this year. Luckily I have a kindle so I don't have to limit the number of books I want to take.

One thing about me is, I'm pretty bad at choosing books for myself to read. I rely heavily on recommendations from friends. I have recently discovered Carrie's YouTube channel (it's way past my bedtime) and she has lots of videos about her favourite books. So below is a list of books recommended by friends (and Carrie) that I'm considering taking with me to Turkey.

1. Uglies by Scott Westerfeld

2. Shadow Web by N. M. Browne

3. Daughter of Bone and Smoke by Laini Taylor

4. Northern Lights (The Golden Compass) by Philip Pullman

5. The Bone Season by Samantha Shannon

6. Mr Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore by Robin Sloan

I'll let you know which ones I choose, and if they're any good I might write a 'book suggestion' post about them.  Does anyone else read lots on holiday? Which books would you choose?

  1. I'm normally a slow reader but I completely devour books on holiday when I'm sunbathing! Northern Lights is probably my favourite book/series ever so I would recommend that, but then again I'm a bit of a fantasy book junkie so it depends whether you're into that genre or not really!
