My sister is AMAZING

A major congratulations to my sister who got into her first choice university last Thursday! So this September she will be heading off to Portsmouth University to study American Studies. Well done Abi :) I couldn't be prouder

To celebrate we went out for a family meal to our local Indian restaurant. And of course we had to take some photos before we left.

Yes thats right, my younger sister is taller than me (and I'm wearing ridiculously high heels, and she's only got mini ones on)

And then the photos got a bit weird…

My youngest sister had to get involved for some family weirdness

And then I attempted to photo an Outfit of the Evening, and lets just say it didn't go well. I felt so awkward in front of the camera, so if Emma or anyone else fancies giving me a few tips (aside from get a better camera, I'm working on it!) I'd love to hear. Here are my failed attempts:

What is my hand even doing in this photo?

Can you sense the awkwardness?!

Seeing as I've started..

Dress: Topshop
Shoes: New Look
Necklace: New Look
Bag: Urban Outfitters
Belt: Vintage from my Grandma
Coat: Not entirely sure as it was a present I received a few years ago,
but I think it was from a little independent
shop that has closed down now

P.s. Also a massive thank you to my sister Izzie, who has looked after me brilliantly today whilst I've been in bed feeling ill. She's a superstar!

What if money was no object?

What job would you like to to get when you graduate?

I get asked this question a lot. And my answer is always, "I don't know yet". Sometimes I feel ashamed by not knowing what I want to do with my life. I have friends that have known exactly what they want to do with their lives since they were in school. A close friend of mine had her heart set on becoming a Speech and Language therapist, so she's gone to uni to study Speech and Language therapy and is guaranteed a job with the NHS when she graduates later on this year. I'm pleased for her, but also a little jealous. She has her plan, and she loves it.

I study Maths at university because I'm good at it, I even enjoy most parts of it, but what I'm going to do with my Maths degree I don't know. I've had many ideas, but none have really made me excited, or created a passion in me to strive for anything.

Part of me feels like I should be grateful for any job I can get (graduate jobs are hard to find you know), but should I settle?

I found a video the other day, and it made me think. What would I like to do with my life, if money was no object...

Do you know what you want to do with you life when you graduate/leave school? Or if you already have a job, is it your dream job? What would you do if money was no object?

Advice to freshers

Lots of people will be starting uni soon. I love uni, and have the complete time of my life there. But going to uni for the first time can be daunting, and working out exactly what you need to pack can be pretty stressful. So I've put together a quick guide on things to pack that you might have forgotten, but chance are they will come in handy. I hope it helps!

Door Stop
To hold your bedroom door open. Especially useful on the first day when you want to meet all your new housemates. If people see an open door they are more likely to come in and introduce themselves.

Alcohol
For the first night when you want to make friends with your housemates. Everyone can bond over a glass of wine or bottle of beer :)

Drawing Pins and White Tac
For pinning up pictures, notes or leaflets in your bedroom. Also, it is worth checking with your uni if you are allowed to stick stuff up on your walls. Some universities won’t allow blue tac but do allow white tac. If your uni doesn’t allow either then don’t worry. Most people put stuff up on their walls any way, just make sure it all comes down before your room inspection.

Marker Pen
Useful for scribbling all over your freshers top and countless other fancy dress items throughout the year.

Fancy dress Basics
You will dress up at uni. It’s a fact. So save yourself some hassle and take the basics. Common themes are; Where’s Wally, School Disco, Rave, Army, Beach Party, Superhero, Pyjama Party and many many more!

Pack of Cards
Ring of Fire... ’nuff said

Paracetamol
For the mornings after Ring of Fire
