My Little Loves

1. Maltese bread. This crusty sourdough bread is a perfect accompaniment for a meal. Super yummy and best served at a full table with plenty of wine.

2. Saying hello to the ducks as they walk past the bus stop

3. Popping out for a late night walk, and finding yourself in the middle of a street party. Complete with music, drink and plenty of dancing

4. Topping up my tan on the balcony (and getting some serious tan lines, need to sort that out!)

5. Going home and surprising my family :)

Surprises and Something new

In my last post I hinted that I would be doing something particularly exciting this weekend. I can now let you all in on the secret. I flew home on Friday to surprise my family. My sister (the only person in on the secret) picked me up from the airport and sneaked me into the house. The look on my mums face when she walked into the living room to find me casually chilling on the sofa was hilarious.

I wasn't the only one who surprised her family, my housemates Claire and Stacey joined me. Unfortunately I was too slow with the camera to catch my family's reactions, so here's some pictures of the girls and I messing around at the airport.

Beautiful housemate number one: Stacey
Beautiful housemate number two: Claire
And...errrr...yeah, it's me :)

It doesn't matter how many times I go on a plane, I will never bore of the view out of the window (or understand how the hell they put a massive metal ship in the air!!)

P.s. With all the confusion about GFC, I have moved over to bloglovin. So if you'd like to continue reading my posts, follow me by clicking here or using the bloglovin button to the right.

P.p.s I love this picture. Even though it's blurry, it's completely natural and sums up how much fun all us girls have together. We laugh, a lot. And not the little giggle type of laugh, the throw your head back, can't breath properly type of laugh. The fact that the picture is blurry adds to it I think :)

Yesterday, the ceiling fell down

Yesterday was a weird day. We came home from uni at around 7.30 to find that the ceiling in the bathroom had collapsed.

Those are some heavy pieces of brick and plaster there, so it's lucky it didn't come down on top of someone. And we have two showers, that's also pretty convenient.

Not what you expect on a Thursday evening! Did anything unexpected happen to anyone else yesterday or was it just me?

Anyway, I hope you all have a great weekend, I know I will ;) I'm sure I'll let you know what I get up to at the beginning of next week, but until then that's all I can say.

Tag: Desert Island

I haven't written a beauty post in a while so I thought I'd do a tag. I've seen similar things to this floating around the web, but here's my version :)
Here's the idea:

If you ended up on a desert island, what 5 beauty products would you want with you and why?

We can assume that sun cream will be provided. So here goes, here are my desert island beauty basics..

1. Vaseline. My lips get really dry so this would be top of my list.

2. YSL Shocking Volume Mascara. Assuming I will be wearing sunglasses for the majority of my time on this island, I can keep my eye make up minimal. Just a touch of mascara to open up the eye.

3. Essie Nail Varnish. There are so many colours to choose from, but I'd take either this gorgeous turquoise colour, or one of these two beautiful pastel colours (which I can tell I'm going to love this summer) in blue or purple

4. Rimmel London Apocalips Lip Lacquer in Stella. A cheeky lip gloss to pop on for special occasions.

5. Aftersun. I know this sounds like a bit of a weird/boring one, but I literally can't go on holiday without a bottle. I rub some on my legs and body almost every day before I go to bed as I love the consistency, it moisturises my skin like nothing else and makes my tan last longer.

So there you have it. My desert island beauty basics.

I'd love to tag a few girls to give this a go. Been There, Done That, Got The Lipstick, Megan from Life and Lipsticks, the beautiful Leanna from Seeking Serendipity, Jenny from Fairy Elephant, hilarious Holly from Holly Mixtures and anyone else who would like to give it a go :)

50 things about me, Part 2

To see facts 1 - 10 click here

11. I don't like flavoured coffee. I like my coffee to be coffee flavoured

12. On a similar note, as well as enjoying coffee, I am in love with tea. However, I have currently given it up for health purposes, and boy is it hard going cold turkey!

13. I love travelling. I even missed my sixth form prom to go to Vietnam. Completely worth it in my opinion :)

14. I once met Baby Spice and Scary Spice at an All Saints concert. It doesn't get cooler than that!

15. Even though I like how leggings look on other people, I wont wear them myself. I'm a jeans or tights girl through and through

16. I don't like fizzy drinks (apart from tonic, especially when it has gin included)

17. I cry really easily when it comes to films, music, even adverts on telly!

18. I have a one-eyed pet pony called Billy who was rescued from gypsies

19. I hate the texture of cucumber

20. I love condiments. I could eat mayonnaise with pretty much anything, though I also love aioli and tartar sauce

OOTD and a wishlist fantasy

I had the most amazing weekend. My mum and dad flew over to see me from England and we had a blast! The highlight has to be the market in Marsaxlokk (pronounced Marsa-shlock) and the fish platter we had on Saturday night at my favourite restaurant on the whole island (check out my instagram for photos, becominghugo)

Here's one of the outfits I wore whilst they were visiting. I'm wearing my new necklace from Tally Weijl which I'm completely in love with. I think it will be perfect for summer, plus I got it for reasonably cheap too :)

I'm wearing an H&M top tucked into my new Topshop skirt. Even though I have an irrational fear of leggings I have managed to convince myself to buy these lacy ones from Urban Outfitters. Over the top I have got my Topshirt shirt that I've had for years.

Also, I just want to add.....how nice is this jacket!!

Wonderful You

It's from Zara and I can't get it out of my head. I think it's beautiful! I have stolen saw these pictures on Megan's blog (Wonderful You), who I have only just discovered and think her blog is brilliant. And she gives me serious hair envy, anyone else agree? Sadly though, I don't have a spare £100 to purchase the jacket, so this is one item that will be staying on my wishlist, damn.

Well, I hope you guys had a lovely weekend too. I haven't done an OOTD in a while, so I hope you can excuse the rubbish lighting in the pictures, but it was the best I could do. Please let me know if you liked it and if you'd want to see more?
